Manchester United and Manchester City want quick transfer for £100m Premier League star

Manchester United and Manchester City are looking to seal a quick transfer for Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson this summer.

Anderson is currently the hottest young midfielder in the Premier League, and Forest are expected to demand around £100 million for him.

According to the Sun, the Manchester giants fear the 23-year-old’s price tag could soar even higher if he impresses at the 2026 World Cup.

With that in mind, they are looking to advance talks before the summer transfer window opens on June 15.

Anderson is highly rated for his energy, versatility and technical ability. His main strengths are his dribbling, passing and defensive play.

Despite Forest’s struggles in the Premier League, the England international has enjoyed an impressive campaign, starting all 31 matches and scoring two goals.

United want to make Anderson their marquee summer signing, but City are currently leading the race.

They are set to lose Bernardo Silva this summer, and Anderson could be an ideal replacement.

United could lose the transfer race to City. The Red Devils may decide to meet Forest’s valuation, but the midfielder’s salary demands may be an issue.

The club made the mistake of offering players big wages in the past, but they have changed their transfer policy under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

United have had a resurgence in form since Michael Carrick was appointed interim manager.

They are currently in a good position to secure Champions League football, which would be crucial for landing top transfer targets this summer.
