Manchester United goalkeeper agrees personal terms with Besiktas

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has agreed personal terms with Besiktas, per the Daily Mail

The Turkish club made an offer for the 28-year-old in January, but United rejected their approach as they wanted to keep him as a back-up option

Bayindir is contracted at Old Trafford until 2027, with the club having an option to extend it by another year.

However, United could look to cash in on the goalkeeper this summer, as he has no future in Manchester.

Bayindir joined United in 2023 from Fenerbahce in a £4.3 million deal. He has kept three clean sheets in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Bayindir had an excellent opportunity to prove himself at the start of the season.

Former manager Ruben Amorim started him in the opening six Premier League games, but he failed to impress. He didn’t keep any clean sheets and conceded 11 goals.

Bayindir is an experienced goalkeeper, but he is prone to costly mistakes and looks vulnerable at set pieces.

His first-team prospects at United look slim, with summer signing Senne Lammens consistently performing well in goal.

The Belgian impressed on his debut against Sunderland in October, and has since started every game in the English top-flight.
