Liverpool at risk of losing all remaining away fixtures this season

Confidence in the Liverpool camp will be low after recent disappointing results. 

The Reds were sent crashing out of the FA Cup after a 4-0 drubbing by Manchester City earlier this month. 

Liverpool were then knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain for the second season in a row.

The Merseyside titans were much improved in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday after losing 2-0 in Paris.  

Arne Slot’s men put the opposition under pressure at Anfield, but they failed to create many scoring chances.

Liverpool will now turn their attention to the Premier League. They are in fifth place, four points ahead of Chelsea. 

However, keeping that final Champions League spot could be difficult, as they face some tough away fixtures. 

Liverpool could lose their remaining away games 

The Reds’ injury crisis deepened after Tuesday’s game, as Hugo Ekitike suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon. He could be out for nine months. 

First-choice goalkeeper Alisson has been sidelined with hamstring issues, while Conor Bradley has had knee surgery. 

Jeremie Frimpong, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni have also been out for lengthy spells due to injury problems. 

Given their form and injuries to key players, Liverpool are not expected to come away with maximum points at Everton this weekend. 

The Toffees have claimed back-to-back wins at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and have lost just one of their previous five league fixtures.  

Liverpool’s next away trip will come at Manchester United, who have been transformed since Michael Carrick took over as interim manager. 

The Red Devils lost against Leeds United at the weekend, but their overall performances have been excellent under Carrick. 

Liverpool visit Aston Villa in their final away fixture of the campaign. Beating Unai Emery’s men at Villa Park will be challenging.
